About 10Best's Baltimore Restaurants Selections:
Situated on the harbor and a short drive from the nation's capital, Baltimore boasts a wealth of luxurious dining spots that accommodate politicians, tourists and a discriminating local clientele. First and foremost, the city's waterfront location makes it a prime supplier of fresh seafood – lobster, crab and oysters – fresh from the Chesapeake Bay. Folks pay a premium to enjoy it in spots that afford a view of the waterfront, like the old standby McCormick and Schmick's. For a special occasion, you may opt to enjoy fresh fish served in the splendor of an ornate dining room, perhaps one like Brightons Orangerie in the Harbor Court Hotel, also overlooking the water. That said, many visitors to Baltimore fall in love with the choice crabs served at rustic seafood houses like Obrycki's or over the counter at Faidley's seafood stand in the historic Lexington Market. These no-frills joints appeal to those who want to taste the best of nearby waters without paying for the trappings of a high-end dining room. In addition to the lovely views and tasty crabs, Baltimore boasts an array of ethnic eateries. The Helmand serves intriguing Afghan dishes and you'll also find some delightful Mediterranean, Indian and Asian kitchens. In Little Italy, restaurants ranging from quaint homestyle joints to cutting edge bistros to haute cuisine establishments serve up some of the Italian cooking you can find.
