13. Knuckle Basher Festival

The Buzz -- The Knuckle Basher Festival aims to bring the sport to as many people as possible, with a schedule of competitions, clinics and demonstrations that might just inspire you to give it a go. The three-day affair showcases the skills of some very talented rock and ice climbers, who participate in tests of speed and technique. Learn-to-climb clinics for all levels of experience are scheduled throughout the weekend, but if you couldn't pre-register (they fill up fast), check out the specially built ice wall on Saturday and Sunday you can try to climb it, for free. Other events include a slideshow and silent auction on Saturday and a retro film show on Friady night.
