Fantastic Food & Prices
Tryed it out for the first time last trip to Banff. Found each evening that my feet just made their way to St James. The Steak Sanwich with onion rings and sauteed mushrooms was a 10 along side the guiness soup! Will always come back every trip!

I love this place. Each and every time I visit Banff, I insist on going. They have the best pub food I've ever found.

We've been in most of the pubs in the Rockies and this one is hard to beat. It’s a great place to unwind with a cool (or warm) beer after hiking or skiing the backcountry. We always stop at the St. James Pub to wrap up backpacking trips in Banff and Yoho National Park. Add this stop to your list if you want to escape the crowds in Banff and enjoy some good food & drink in one of western Canada's best English-style pubs.

Can't get my head around the prices unless its one of the nights that there is live music. Room doesn't feel all that cozy considering all the decor.

Anyone with an hour to spare in or near Banff must stop for a meal at St. James's Gate. If you're honeymooning (as we were), the fireside tables are charming and romantic. If you're apres-ski, the 50-odd available scotches provide quick warmth. And no matter what else you are doing, the food is tremendous. I will return to Banff again, if only for the Shepherd's Pie and Bread-pudding. Slainte!
