2. Daphne's

ST. JAMES PARISH.   The original Daphne's, in London's trendy Chelsea, has a sibling in Barbados! The island's restaurant is every bit as trendy, although the décor is sleeker and more contemporary. The food, of course, is fabulous. The menu is brimming with modern Italian dishes like shrimp and zucchini flower risotto, pappardelle with rabbit ragout and black olives, and mahi mahi with peperonata and fried zucchini. Selecting just one or two may prove difficult! Desserts are not to be missed – coffee and mascarpone charlotte, iced berries with hot white chocolate sauce, and millefeuilles with strawberries and chantilly cream are just a few of the options. Just about as bad as it gets. The food is bearable, but the service is so awful that it totally overshadows the moderate cooking. Everyone around the table was given a different version of the menu to start off duw to their incompetence, which made ordering pretty tough as none of us were working off the same menu. The main courses were all served at different times, so that many of us had all finished by the time that some of our party were just being served.
