Situated in the beautiful gothic Barfüsserkirche (Church of the Discalced Friars), this history museum was originally built in the 13th century by barefoot Franciscan monks. The collection pays tribute to Basel's cultural significance and features a rich selection of tapestries designed by the city's weavers, ecclesiastical art, liturgical objects, and Gallic and Roman ceramics. The hallmark of the museum is a silver and gold reliquary bust of St. Ursula. (© 10Best) More Details for Historisches MuseumHours: Sun-Mon, Wed-Sat 10am-5pm Type: History Museums, Museums |
