8. Zum Goldenen Sternen

worst dinner by far!
Sitting on the table of Zum Golden Sternen 2 weeks ago, the only think i could think of was: "How on earth this place got a Michellin star?".. or at least "what happened to it since?" The experience was so disappointing that left me wondering if i should ever bother reading a professional food review ever again. Where to start: -service so casual that reminded of a taverna on a remote greek island (the waiter cleaned the breadcrumbs from the previous dinner with his hands!!! just to name an example) -the "Timbale de mozzarella de buffle, avocat et tomate à huile de basilic et salade de roquette" ie: frozen tomato & avocado - at the price of 21CHF! -the "Fillet of lamb saddle “Provence style” sautéed mushrooms and market vegetables" was much better executed at any gastro pub in East End and the "potato-ricotta soufflé" was out of the microwave far to early to defrost. -the terrace restaurant serves italian where, according to their website : "Love of pleasure and an interesting mix of mediterrenean and traditional dishes are the credo of our house". This is translated to : Tomato - mozzarella and rocket salad pasta with pomodoro and basilico and such other 2interesting dishes" as for the day menu, the waiter was not quite sure how to explain it in any language other than german (ie:french, english, italian or spanish..) Undeniably the terrace is very pleasant for lunch, if you don't mind what you are eating. But it is unacceptable how such highly reviewed restaurant can get away with offering so little, so badly.
