These 18th century cellars serve as a museum that chronicles the 1600 years of history of both the Abbey and the Christians who worshiped here. The original church eventually fell into disrepair and the present facility was founded following the Norman Conquest. The surviving sculpture reflects the quality artisanship from this period. The museum is located below Kingston pavements on the south side of Bath Abbey.
