Part of the Costume Museum, the Assembly Rooms were crafted in 1769-1771, and consist of The Ball Room, Octagon, and Tea Room. Employed for public entertainment during the 18th century, these lavish halls are noted for their grand chandeliers and portraits from the likes of Thomas Gainsborough. Many of the original furnishings have survived intact, and extensive renovation has remedied the damage sustained during World War II.
