Generally considered the country's finest example of Elizabethan architecture, the Thynne family estate was opened to the public in 1949, and has since enjoyed immense popularity. Particularly interesting is the Safari Park, which was opened in 1966 for the purpose of protecting endangered animals.   (© 10Best)
