10. Varsity Theatre

BATON ROUGE.   Everybody knows the Varsity, Baton Rouge's nightlife mainstay near LSU's north gates. The place is best known for live music, and its roster has included Better Than Ezra, The Wailers Band, Kevin Martin, and other rock, reggae, and alternative performers. When they're not around, you'll find sports on huge TVs, LSU gameday events, and awesome dance parties. Most any time you go, the place is packed, but for a dose of local color and Louisiana fun, the Varsity is hard to beat.   (© 10Best)
