BATON ROUGE.   Folks come to Baton Rouge from far and wide for the terrific music and fun atmosphere of the city's "biggest gay dance club." The energy at Splash runs rampant, thanks to nightly drink specials and awesome DJs. Plus, depending on the night, you'll also find drag shows, karaoke events, theme parties, and even CD release promotions. Gay and straight patrons are both invited to kick it to the great music, and fun and camaraderie have no boundaries when the lights go up and the volume shifts to high.   (© 10Best)

I've been going to the bar located in the building where Splash is now when it first became a gay bar over 25 years ago. In the beginning, it was called "Mother's Mantle" before turning into a gay bar called "The Emporium". It went through many different names and owners (even once being turned into a "straight" bar for a short time. With each change, the bar became more upscale with better equipment, music, security, employees and visual appeal peaking when bought by the owners of Splash several years ago. Besides being the biggest and best dance club in Baton Rouge, it also has nightly events, shows, games and specials that no other bar even comes close to. Splash is known for being a big part of the gay community, donating and sponsoring many charitable events and organizations. If you're looking for great music, a great outgoing diverse group of people and a whole lot of fun, there is only one place to go.... SPLASH!
