BATON ROUGE.   Dim, casual, and laid-back, George's feels like the neighborhood joint it is. There's no stand-out decor or gimmicks, just satisfying bar food that goes more for taste and substance than health. As a result, you'll find bacon cheeseburgers, steaks, a catfish plate, oyster po'boys, chicken and okra gumbo, and a chicken-fried steak sandwich. Pecan pie's for dessert, and a full bar will set you up with a cold beer to wash it all down. This is the original location and there are 3 others around town. Their motto? Great place to hangout , but very pricey for a hole in the wall. An oyster poboy $9.25 ouch!!! , $ 3.25 dom beer, $3.75 import , ouch ouch !!!!! Should we just call it greedy or the Katrina effect ?
