BATON ROUGE. This expansive mall promises plenty of good browsing and certainly a bargain or two with over 110 stores. Its anchors include department stores JCPenney, Mervyn's, Sears, Macy's, and Dillard's. Other venues include Waldenbooks, Express, New York & Company, and Champs Sports. A handful of food shops and restaurants is also available, and there's a play area to keep young kids entertained and occupied.

BATON ROUGE. This impressive mall is one of the area's more upscale shopping venues, and its two stories feature a center court and an antique carousel. Anchor stores include Dillard's, Macy's, JC Penney, and Sears. Other terrific shops include Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Victoria's Secret, Williams-Sonoma, Steve Madden, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Disney Store, and Gap. A food court and restaurants are available as well.

GONZALES. If the allure of a bargain gets your adrenalin pumping, this outlet center will be nirvana. A variety of brand-name stores offers substantial discounts on retail prices, and since the merchandise changes often, you're never sure what treasures you'll find. Representative stores include Gap Outlet, Jones New York, Liz Claiborne Outlet, Old Navy Outlet, Tommy Hilfiger Clearance, Samsonite, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Mikasa, and Izod.
