5. Old Sheldon Church Ruins & Graveyard

I can remember as a child my family going to the Old Sheldon, and as a child thinking it such an interesting place. I have pictures from over 15 years ago and yesterday we took my daughter who is 7, she found the site to be just as majestic. We looked at each grave and wondered what their life must have been like. It is truly amazing that this place is still standing so firmly rooted and now we have pictures of my daughter. We plan to go back this year as we would like to have time to really study all that truly lies there. It is also amazing that the same family has taken care of the grounds there for over 75 years, you will find a beautiful tree dedicated to them. Just Beautiful.

Although all that remains of the church itself are the walls, columns and altar, it is breathtaking. There are also several old gravestones in the church yard and there are picnic tables available. No cost.
