6. Talons Challenge

The Buzz -- Beaver Creek's Talons Challenge is an open event whose primary prize is – you guessed it – the right to gloat over all the folks who lack the spark to explore slopes they wouldn't otherwise ski. Hosted by the instructors of the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School, the Talons Challenge is comprised of a series of pre-marked trails, and participants must complete a certain number of them in order to garner Honorable Mention (three Talons runs), Gold Level (all 13 Talons runs), or Platinum Status (all the Talons runs in one day). The event also includes free concerts, drink specials at Village watering holes, and a handful of free giveaways and raffles.
