More about Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek was conceived by a development group from nearby Vail, with the intention of creating a truly special resort destination. Billed as the "local's mountain" in the region, Beaver Creek Mountain features a long ski season (November to April) and an average annual snowfall of over 300 inches, making its 1600 acres of skiable terrain and 140-plus trails an attractive – even seductive – destination all season long. The natural beauty of Beaver Creek and the nearby villages of Arrowhead and Bachelor Gulch provide many leisure options no matter the season or weather. Diversions abound in this rugged corner of Vail Valley: book a "seat" on a hot air balloon and soar high over the Rockies, join up on horseback for a trip through White River National Forest, or even catch a Broadway-caliber show at the Vilar Center for the Arts. A resort community wouldn't be complete without award-wining spas – many of the area's leading hotels offer deluxe spa packages. Rounding out the summer activities are challenging golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and Tom Fazio. They offer a variety of tough terrain elements, from large rock outcroppings and dense groves of trees to fairways carved into narrow ridges and others that feature dramatic elevation changes. In addition, if you can muster the energy, there's great shopping, dining, and nightlife in Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, and Arrowhead Villages, as well as the nearby towns of Edwards and Avon. Perhaps you'd better plan for a few extra days.
