BACHELOR GULCH. Nestled between Arrowhead and Beaver Creek Villages, Bachelor Gulch is home to the luxurious Ritz-Carlton. This cozy little ski-in village is known for its unique architecture, which is reminiscent of something you'd find in Yellowstone, Yosemite, or Grand Teton. While not quite as active as Beaver Creek Village, Bachelor Gulch never-the-less offers a handful of little shops and restaurants, including a ski and gear rental store and the ever-popular Zach's Cabin.

BEAVER CREEK. If the Beaver Creek Resort Community has a focal point, it would be the Village area, which serves as its primary gathering place during big events and the lifeblood of its aprés ski bar and dining scenes. During the day, this European-style village bustles with people popping in and out of its neat little shops that have made their home there, from galleries specializing in the work of local artists and gift shops to terrific clothing boutiques and outfitters that carry mountain and resort gear for every season. A convenient network of heated walkways and escalators links the businesses of Beaver Creek Village, making getting around on foot easy no matter what season it is.

AVON. In 1874, the first European settlers made their way to the Eagle River Valley and eventually settled in the area that they christened Avon. Today, the town of around 6000 permanent residents is considered the commercial heart and soul of the Eagle River Valley, boasting as it does an eclectic sampling of boutiques, souvenir shops, and unique galleries. Avon also features a number of topnotch restaurants as well as the lovely Nottingham Park and Lake, which offers a peaceful setting for a summer afternoon picnic.

EDWARDS. Located just a few miles west of Beaver Creek, the Town of Edwards dates from the 1880s, when it was the stomping ground for the handful of ranchers and cowhands who made their home in the area. Today, Edwards still serves as a gathering place for locals, as its busy bars and restaurants no doubt attest. The cozy little mountain town also attracts its fair share of shoppers who are drawn in, no doubt, by the friendly merchants and unique little stores they find here, especially in the Riverwalk, a commercial area that features boutiques, restaurants, movie theaters, galleries, and even lodging.
