This place has the right touch of everything...great food, service, atmosphere, and did I mention great food? This place takes Indian cuisine to the next level with its french-style portions and presentation. Usually, I'm completely stuffed after eating at Indian restaurants (e.g., Taj, Tandoor); however, I had the right amount of food including wine and dessert and was still able to drive home without the "food comatose". Wednesday nights are half off bottles of wine, so of course we selected a nice bottle of red wine to start of the dinner. For starters, we selected the Mint chicken tika (sp?) and the samosa. Now, I've plenty of samosas in my day, but I have to say that this was one samosa that I won't forget. Not too doughy and the right amount of spiced potato and peas. And to add to it, the mint and onion chutney was prepared with the right amount of tangy and sweetness. For the main course, we went for the Fish (market price – rmb 40), Murg Makhni, and Baingan. The fish was haddock fish similar to a sea bass. It was cooked to perfection and delicately prepared with green peas and a sauce to compliment the encrusted breaded fish. The Murg Makhni I have to say was the best dish out of all the dishes we tried. The chicken is marinated overnight and you can tell with each bite. Each bite was very tender and juicy. If I had enought Naan, I would have soaked up all the spiced cream sauce. That was phenomenal. The Baignan Bharta, was pretty good. I wouldn't say this was my favorite, but you should at least try it once. It almost tasted like it was italian with the peas, eggplant, and tomatoes, but it complimented the other dishes well. After all this, we still had room for some dessert. We had the hot gulab jamun topped with kulfee drizzled with a spicy sweet sauce. If you are a ice cream fan, this is to die for. The only thing I have a complaint of and the reason I gave this place 4 and half stars, is the location. Unless it was just the day that I went, the place was hard to find. Although they indicated right in front of north gate of ritan park.I had called to restaurant and they send me waiter to pick us up from The Elephant restaurant, which is 20 meters away from Mirch Masala. Overall, I would recommend this place for all occasions. I would definitely go back, just because of the price and Food. This was definitely a treat!
