6. Museum of Belize

FORT GEORGE.   This museum is historical inside and out. The brick structure was built in the mid-1800s as the city's prison; it stayed that way until only a few yeas ago. Now the building is home to the small but excellent Museum of Belize. Exhibits trace Belize's history through the last 3000 years. There is especially impressive coverage of Maya history, including a display of jade and pottery. Philatelists will love the 150 years of stamps on display.   (© 10Best)
