The Buzz -- A week of celebration accompanies the annual anniversary of the Battle of St. George's Caye. The British defeat of a Spanish Armada in 1798 is the reason English is spoken in Belize instead of Spanish (like in the rest of Central America). Belize City hosts an annual parade on September 10.
