7. Riverside Tavern

Extremely popular upscale sports bar and restaurant with a great location on the bank of Haulover Creek. Their massive "gourmet burger" is one of the best in the country, available in 10-oz patty or the super-sized 16-oz behemoth. Other choices include steaks, coconut-encrusted shrimp, and American/Caribbean cuisine and bar food; Belizean beef comes from the owners' Gallon Jug Estate. This restaurant has consistantly the best food in Belize. My family travels to Belize quite often and we always look forward to dining there. The staff is always friendly and efficient. The food is never dissapointing. Burgers are good, but I like the fresh fish. Nice relaxing atmosphere, and a great place to meet locals. Manager/Owner Dustin Bowen is very attentive to customers.
