BELLEVUE. Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall, Andre's is a unique find. Its eclectic menu takes cues from European and Asian cuisines, and the sleek, open space includes a romantic fireplace, making the restaurant a great place for a date. Tempting dishes include Asian crab ravioli, Algerian lamb, turmeric-lemongrass chicken, and Eurasian pork tenderloin, simmered in a curry marsala-ginger sauce. Noodle, pasta, and vegetarian dishes are also delicious.

BELLEVUE. Loyalists at this family-run institution show up regularly to feast on well-spiced Thai favorites like crispy spring rolls, garlic chicken, seafood dishes, and classic pad thai. The lengthy menu also features plenty of vegetarian options, and the atmosphere combines relaxed attitude with upscale, authentic decor.

BELLEVUE. The name of this restaurant leaves little doubt as to its specialty. Frequented by a host of folks who love well-prepared raw seafood, it's also a favorite of professionals from local high-tech companies, who show up daily for lunch. The menu includes fresh, excellent items, including the famous spider roll, great miso soup, and crisp tempura dishes. Salads, plenty of tofu options, and combination plates add to the possibilities.

Intimate, comfortable Kaede Kissa offers traditional fare from the Japanese countryside. Pork cutlets, salmon shio (whose preparation involves salt-rubbing and grilling), and a chicken hot pot with tofu and vegetables are among the delicious entrees. Gyoza – Japanese dumplings – are cooked to perfection and may be enjoyed as an appetizer or main course. A daily happy hour allows you to savor appetizers, beer, and wine at half-price. Come on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday to enjoy karaoke after 8:30pm.

BELLEVUE. This contemporary restaurant gets lots of traffic from folks hungry for Vietnamese fare. The dining room is distinguished by a massive fish tank and pastel decor, and it's packed every day at lunchtime. Folks from area businesses pour in regularly to dine on fresh stir-fries made with vegetables, chicken, beef, or seafood and to sample more complex, exotic entrees as well.

Freshly-prepared sushi and sashimi are served in a modern, classy space at Sushiman. Chef Robert Sugetsugu, a former sumo wrestler, offers delicious starters (like squid salad or spinach in soy-ginger dressing), nigiri, maki, house rolls, and a full roster of dinner entrees. Try Hamachi Don, fresh yellowtail served over a bed of sushi rice, or the California crunch – crab and avocado wrapped in tempura crumbs. A selection of Japanese and domestic sakes provides appropriate accompaniments.

BELLEVUE. Patrons are greeted with a burst of color when they enter Thai Ginger, thanks to purple walls accented with traditional Thai carvings. The menu is colorful as well, and a broad range of favorites includes pad Thai, ginger chicken, satay, and excellent stir-fries. The chef is happy to customize any dish, preparing it to your heat specifications (mild to nuclear) and adding ginger, curry, or lemongrass to further personalize things.

BELLEVUE. A peaceful oasis inside a bustling shopping mall, The King and I offers excellent noodle dishes and other favorites in a spacious, airy dining room. Ornate decor lines the walls, and the menu features wonderfully crisp spring rolls, tangy hot and sour soup, and a long list of vegetarian dishes, curries, and beef and pork options.
