Overview
Birthplace of Wal-Mart, Bentonville is a fast-growing city with about 32,000 residents. The economy is driven largely by Wal-Mart and the Whistler Group (manufacturer of radar detectors). Charmingly old-fashioned, Bentonville has a picturesque town square ringed by mom-and-pop businesses like the Station Café, as well as the Wal-Mart Visitor's Center, housed in the same building where Sam Walton had his first five-and-dime store. Additionally, northwest Arkansas is a nature-lover's paradise, so in 30 minutes or less, you can drive to a plethora of parks, lakes, caves and trail systems.
