As aficionados can attest, Chicago-style pizza may take a while longer to make and bake, but the wait is more than worth it. Gusano's makes an excellent version – the Deluxe is a two-inch deep crust filled with cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, hamburger, green peppers, onions and mushrooms, then doused with sauce on top. It's the kind of pie that even the most avid of hungry pizza fans can eat only one or two slices of. The menu includes thin-crust pizzas and a number of tasty sandwiches as well. Big screen TVs and cold beer make it a prime destination on game days, too.

For those of us who love Mexican and Tex-Mex food, Maria's just can't be beat. Tacos al carbon, shrimp adobados, chili rellenos, fajitas, carne asada, chile verde, tamales – all your favorites are here. Plus, there are a number of combo plates, so you don't have to settle on just one thing. That's great when you love enchiladas but are really craving the crunch of a tostada or a taco, or if you'd like to try something you've never had before.

Ask a local where to get a really good burger, and chances are the answer will be "Station Café." The down-home, diner-like atmosphere is popular and comfortable, so the place is usually packed at lunch. Now, this is not a place to visit if you're trying to follow a diet, but for a comforting "splurge" the Station Café's burgers, fries and milkshakes are great. It's situated right on the town square, so the view is almost as pleasant as the friendly company!

Arguably Bentonville's finest restaurant, The Sanctuary is housed in a former church with four different dining spaces. The overall ambience is lovely, with a black-and-white color scheme, fine linens and crystal, and service to match. The French-influenced menu changes seasonally, but representative dishes include gorgonzola-crusted beef tenderloin and Lobster Bienville. If you're in town on a Sunday, check out their classic brunch offerings.
