3. Trattoria La Siciliana

You must be joking. The ten best? This place is mediocre at BEST. Been there a few times. We live in the neighborhood and wish they'd just tear this place down and put in another Wood Tavern.

We were in the mood for a traditional Italian dinner, not fru fru Cali style Italian. We found this little gem in Zagats. They are cash only and don't take reservations. The service wasn't 5 star but the staff was very friendly and helpful and made our dinner delightful. Bring your own bottle of wine and pay the corkage if you are picky, the wine list isn't that great. But for most folks it'll work. We just ordered a bottle of Italian sparkling wine and were good to go. Can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu!
