I had no idea that the door policy in berlin clubs was so random and unfair. we waited for half an hour and when the horrible bouncers asked us how many we said 'two' (two girls) and he said 'we dont want you here' and told us to leave. They were so rude it left a really bitter taste.

Old news and past its best
The door policy is completely random. Judge for yourself by the number of taxis waiting to take rejected punters away as you stand in the queue (even just after it opens at midnight). We were lucky but I would say about 30 to 40% of people were asked to “step over to the right”...which means 'you’re not coming in’. The biggest rejections seemed to be for groups of 4 or more, girls, hoodies and under 25s. The club is good but Tresor is much better - unless you’re into gay-sex in dark spaces, filthy unisex toilets and shitty bar staff - in which case queue for Berghain.

Best club ever!
They have a great door policy keeping out all the unwanted people like drunken British and stupid Americans. They basically only allow the real party people and techno fans. This ensures the vibe inside the building is electric! This does mean however that good looking girls, just normal gays or guys won't be allowed inside. If you don't know why you are going to Berghain, you'd better don't try in the first place! The Berghain experience is indescribable! This club puts all others to shame!

ENGLISH NOT WELCOME- DISGUSTING
Queued for 1.5 hours to be met by an uptight doorman, who just puffed out his chest and barked..."Are you english?..well then you are not welcome... reason..i don't need a reason, this is my house". [PUFFS OUT CHEST AND GET'S INTO FACE] Another one of our group was turned away with 'can you speak german?...well then you can't come in'. We left feeling that this particular guy felt that 'english' = 'hooligan'. A lazy and disgusting stereotype. I'm 34 and run my own business. Save yourself an hour in the cold and go somewhere where the door 'man' aren't quite so xenophobic or racist towards english people. If there was one country that i wouldn't expect such an attitude to exist it is Germany.
