KAMUELA. Since it's one of the only Big Island restaurants serving French cuisine, originality is something that Chef Thiebaut has in the bag. The restaurant's look and furnishings are originals and replicas of early 1900s Hawaii, playing off the historic Chock In Store building it resides. As to Thiebaut’s menu, the rack of lamb with eggplant compote is a tasty dish, as is the yellow fin tuna with Thai curry vinaigrette. All of this helps make Daniel Thiebaut a strong contender for top French restaurant in Hawaii.
