KONA COAST.   Chef Alan Wong (think CanoeHouse and The Pineapple Room) has not only made a name for himself, but his award-winning restaurants have set the bar high for the rest of the Big Island dining scene. Dishes like the red and yellow tomato soup, mango-barbecue baby back ribs and fresh ahi on watermelon have come to define Big Island cuisine. In addition, the restaurant sits on the 18th hole of the golf course and provides a gorgeous ocean views from most any seat.
