This national landmark is the lone surviving physical evidence of Lewis and Clark's Expedition. On July 25 1806, Clark scaled this massive sandstone butte and carved his name and the date on the northern side. Clark named the rock "Pomos Tower" after Sacajawea's son. The spot would later serve as a landmark for traders and military excursions and is the site of an annual celebratory event of Clark's visit here. 28 miles east of Billings.
