9. Lucy's Coffee & Tea

I went to graduate school at UAB and Lucy's was a morning staple for me then. After relocating for over 6 years and subsequently returning, I was elated to find that the "Starbuck's" takeover had not closed Lucy's and it was thriving. Lucy remembered me on my second trip and already knew what I was going to order. This is the true eclectic coffee shop! The food and the coffee are great otherwise why bother!
