Neighborhoods
- CIVIL RIGHTS DISTRICT: This area features the Civil Rights Institute and Museum, Kelly Ingram Park and Sixteenth Street Baptist Church. Also nearby in the district is the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame and historic Carver Theater for the Performing Arts. Honoring Birmingham native and Temptations lead singer Eddie Kendrick, is the Eddie Kendrick Memorial Park, just down the block. The area is east of the downtown business district.
- FIVE POINTS SOUTH: Birmingham's trendy neighborhood to the south is home to University of Alabama-Birmingham and loads of great restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
- HOMEWOOD: Great shopping and restaurants are located here just south of downtown and Mountain Brook and just off Highway 280. Walk along 18th Street and enjoy antiques, galleries, coffee shops and some of the finest apparel around.
- LAKEVIEW DISTRICT: Wedged between downtown and Five Points South, this historic district is home to many great restaurants and nightspots, especially along 29th Street South and Seventh Avenue South.
- MOUNTAIN BROOK: A unique, upscale area where the finest antiques, restaurants and galleries are located. The area features three villages: English Village, Mountain Brook Village and Crestline. All are located along Cahaba Road near the Botanical Gardens and Zoo.
