1. Botanical Gardens

These gardens, first opened in 1832, house an incredibly prolific collection of plants and botanical habitats. Settings dedicated to herbs, roses, bonsai, and alpine plants mingle with greenhouses that shelter palms, orchids, ferns, and cacti. The beautifully manicured, 14-acre site is also home to a restaurant, a children's playground, several aviaries, and a wonderful shop in which you can buy decorative gifts and an assortment of indoor and outdoor plants.   (© 10Best)
