A National Nature Reserve of more than 2400 acres, this park was a gift of Henry VIII and is Birmingham's largest. Less than seven miles from the city, its heaths, bogs and woodlands are largely untouched and provide necessary refuge for wildlife in the Midlands. Although conservation is stringent, there are opportunities for horseback riding, boating and golf. Along with a visitors center, several restaurants and cafés are located on the grounds.
