1. Boulton, Watt, and Murdoch Statue

This statue was designed by William Bloye to memorialize these three industrialists of Birmingham. Boulton is remembered for the running of the Soho Manufactory, Watt for the improvement of the steam engine, and Murdock for the invention of gas lighting.
