"Forward" is a statue by Birmingham native Raymond Mason which commemorates the progress made by the people of his home city. The statue has been the center of a national discussion of modern art. An interesting and thought-provoking public piece that should not be missed. "Industry and Genius – John Baskerville" honors Birmingham printmaker John Baskerville. Baskerville was the creator of a popular typeface that bears his name. The modern statue represents some of the most well known printings undertaken by him. Created by well-known artist David Patten. "Spirit of Enterprise," a bronze water fountain by Tom Lomax, is a central part of Centenary Square. The sections of the three-part piece represent Commerce, Enterprise and Industry. One of the many interesting modern art works that punctuate the square.   (© 10Best)
