5. Woodgate Valley Country Park

A refuge for wildlife, surrounded by residential neighborhoods. Encompassing 450 acres along the winding path of a brook, habitats include fields, forests, and marshes. Abandoned buildings from old Birmingham industries hint at the region's past. A visitors center offers food and drinks and can guide you to the pony-riding tours.
