BISMARCK.   Known as the "Skyscraper on the Prairie," the North Dakota's State Capitol towers over the city Bismarck like a proud parent. Completed in 1933, this Art Deco-style structure stands 19 stories and serves as a gateway of sorts between the state's past, present, and future. Also featured on the State House grounds are an arboretum garden and trail and a collection of statues that includes a bronze Sakakawea and the quintessential pioneer family.   (© 10Best)
