BISMARK. A must for families with small children, the Dakota Zoo is home some 125 species of animals including Alaskan brown bears, gray wolves, bald eagles, Mexican orange knee tarantulas, and several primates. Guests will be thrilled to find many of the animals living in settings that closely resemble their natural habitats, as in the bear and otter exhibits, for example. The zoo first opened its doors in 1961, and its reputation has only grown over the years, with average attendance exceeding more than 100,000 people annually.
