NORMAL. Ask any local resident of Bloomington or Normal where you can find an interesting book, and he or she will probably tell you to go to Babbitt's. Opened in 1989 as a vintage clothing store, this bookstore now shelves over 150,000 books. Located in Normal, Babbitt's sells used books (many of which are first editions) in its store location, and also sells new books from its website.

Beer nuts are a source of pride for the people of Bloomington. Created here in the 1930s in a small confectionery store, this tasty treat now comes in many varieties. Stop in and see the variety for yourself. It includes the classic peanut, golden cashews, choice almonds, pecans, walnuts and more. The store features small and large quantities of nuts, as well as other gourmet gift snacks.

BLOOMINGTON. If you haven't had a chocolate "fix" lately, this is your place. The small shop is filled with gourmet candies, mostly chocolate, in all shapes, sizes and colors. Specialty chocolates, such as unique Easter bunnies, are carried seasonally. You will find hard candy, chewy candy, package candy, bulk candy – you name it. A variety of tins and baskets are also available for you to fill with goodies.
