24. La Villetta

Went to La Villetta on Christmas eve. We made a reservation for 6 pm, but were told to get there early. When we arrived 15 minutes to 6, there were only two tables filled. We ordered, then waited about half an hour for our appetizers while the restaurant filled up. We continued to wait and wait, while tables that arrived after us with larger parties got their main courses. After an hour and 15 minutes of waiting, the manager came over and told us, rather unapologetically, that it was christmas eve, and it would be out shortly. When we pointed out that our salad had not even come yet, he told us that according to our waiter we had already gotten our salad. After another couple of minutes we decided to leave, at which point the manager cursed at one of our party. I asked to see the owner. Only to find out that the manager we were dealing with was in fact the owner. So if you like long waits and rude service, this is the place for you.
