14. Cucina d'Angelo

BOCA RATON.   An offshoot of Fort Lauderdale's Casa d'Angelo, this charming restaurant promises satisfying Italian cuisine in the worthy tradition of its pater. Start off with tender rings of calamari, or perhaps a serving of beef carpaccio, perfumed with truffles. Then, choose something rustic and comforting from the grill or the wood-burning oven. Oak grilled jumbo prawns are a terrific choice, as are oven-roasted chicken, dry-aged New York strip steak, and marinated veal chops. Fresh fish is available daily, along with a risotto and a gnocchi. Pasta listings also prove tempting, rich with tomatoes, herbs, and garlic.
