4. Le Cafe Gourmand

Buzzy and interesting brasserie with close tables, excellent service and food. Good relaxed dining and very easy to while away an afternoon eating well and drinking good wines. Review based on 2 consecutive lunches in March 2006 following a recommendation in the Aer Lingus inflight magazine. Good value (by our standards in Dublin) and exactly how we feel a great brasserie/cafe should be. Situated in a good shopping area too some of you can pop out for a bit of Retail Therapy during the afternoon. Different Starter and Main course for each day of week and the fixed menu is available in "Mini" or "Maxi" portions at Euro 19 or 27 (when we were there). Chef's daily suggestions such as Frisee salad with bacon lardons for an Entree with rich Beef Bourguignon or Pasta with Basil and Prawns for the Plat. Very good desserts. Everything prepared in-house. Can't praise it too much.
