The Buzz -- Despite having its premiere in 1996, this modern rock opera has tremendous history, from its roots in Puccini's La Boheme to the death of creator Jonathan Larson the night before the musical's premiere. Rent has taken home the Tony Award for "Best Musical," it's received a Pulitzer Prize, and it's been adapted for the screen. Now the tour brings back a part of that history with Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, and Gwen Stewart reprising roles from the original Broadway production as a group of artists and activists who are not gonna pay reeeeeent! |
