THEATRE DISTRICT. Looking for where the Theatre District's über sexy crowd gathers when midnight rolls around? Try, Venu, a sleek, hot dance club that doesn't really get going until all the "respectable folks" are tucked and tidy in their beds. The dance floor, under the stewardship of charismatic DJ's that specialize in hip-hop, old school rap, Latin and techno, is always packed with model-caliber clientele. That said, if it's a particularly busy night, getting past the door can be quite a feat, so make sure you dress well and act the part.

THEATRE DISTRICT. A haven for the chic and well-dressed, this fashionable club occupies an intimate space below the Wilbur Theatre and attracts a good contingent of late-night revelers. They come to lounge on upholstered furniture and groove on the dance floor to DJ-spun tunes. Musical styles range from house to hip-hop, reggae, R&B, and international. The place usually doesn't open until after the performances upstairs are done. Make sure to dress in your stylish best.

THEATRE DISTRICT. Formerly that icon of style known as Pravda 116, this sexy Theatre District haunt draws young, deep-pocketed folks who are looking for an upbeat place to unwind. Music ranges from house to Latin, and the Euro-chic interior certainly blends a wide range of "rouge" elements. Patronage of the hip and famous is a point of pride at Gypsy, and it's not uncommon for celebs (Heidi Klum, for one) to throw their own private bashes here. Fashion shows and themed parties give the crowd further reasons to don their best.

DOWNTOWN. For those who enjoy (and know) their salsa, meringue, reggaeton and bachata, in terms of general atmosphere and energy level, few places hold a candle to this fun-loving dance club, which sits just a few paces from Boston Common. Each night, Mojitos features a little something different, from live Latin music and free dance lessons in the lounge to awesome, adrenaline-racing dance parties in the snazzy club area. NB Keep your eyes peeled for promotions like reduced admissions, drink specials and celeb DJs.

THEATRE DISTRICT. If you're in the mood to move, this is the place to be. Friday night techno music provides a continuous beat and an energetic atmosphere, and seven bars and a balcony allow dancers to catch their breath. Reggae and swing nights number among the weekly theme nights, and the place even presents magic shows on occasion. More than just a bump-n-grind joint, though, the Roxy is also a well-respected live music venue ... one that has hosted everything from rappers to alternative rockers. T-shirts, jeans, and tennis shoes are not allowed, so make sure you're dressed in smart casual attire or trendy attire.

NORTH END. Located near the Fleet Center in the North End, O'Reilly's Irish pub boasts a New Orleans feel throughout. It's a great spot for singles to mingle and meet other Boston up-and-comers. O'Reilly's offers nights for both live music and DJs, and the music is a mixture of '80s, new wave, rock and pop. After dancing a while, be sure and partake of the house's signature drink – the Big Easy-style Hurricane.

CAMBRIDGE. Trying to find a place in Cambridge where you can wear jeans and a T-shirt and not get bounced from the dance floor? Head to Phoenix Landing, an Irish pub that's also one of the area's hottest weekend dance joints. Those who've discovered the place try to keep it close, because it's a rather small place with great atmosphere! Live performers and expert DJs take turns satisfying the need for tunes, and TVs keep visitors informed about the latest soccer scores.

BRIGHTON. The Kells is an Irish-American pub that doubles as a restaurant and nightclub. This large establishment has two floors that house two dance floors, four bars and one restaurant. The dance tunes range from house to retro, hip-hop, electronica and disco. The dining options are quite good, including an all-you-can-eat Sunday buffet and weekly menu items that include appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers.

THEATRE DISTRICT. Unabashedly wild and a little "naughty," the Liquor Store is the quintessential party bar. Attention-grabbing patrons pack the floor and shake it to DJ-spun top 40 hits until the urge for another beer (served in a brown paper bag) arises. Friday night's bikini contests draw some striking beauties, not to mention a large audience. In the midst of all the hoop-la, be sure not to miss a ride on the famous mechanical bull.

FENWAY DISTRICT. This pub's rather unusual name means "new beginning" in Gaelic and replaces its former name, RíRá. The spot's a combination Irish bar and dance club, which means drinks such as Guinness are coupled with dance tunes that range from hip-hop to disco and reggae. Typical bar fare (burgers and such) is available every night except Sunday, and for singles, it's a great meet-and-greet spot.
