About 10Best's Boston Restaurants Selections:
Boston’s dining scene is the quintessential melting pot, filled with tony dining rooms, casual crab shacks, and student-filled burger joints. You can also find every type of ethnic eatery imaginable, from Middle Eastern to Milanese to Mediterranean. However, seafood is the name of the game in this port city, and the local specialty, lobster – once a food of the poor and of prisoners – appears on practically every menu. For the ultimate silver-spoon dining experience, don’t miss L’Espalier, a romantic spot in the Back Bay. Or for a meal with Boston attitude, try Durgin-Park, a city institution that opened in 1827 and is equally famous for its fresh oysters and brusque service. Chowda’ is another local favorite, and you’ll find some of the best at Legal Sea Foods, along with great mahi mahi, oysters, and – of course – lobsta’. The North End is chock full of friendly Italian places offering mom-and-pop service and true Italian cooking – Mamma Maria is a beloved example. Whether you want to sport a plastic bib in a Cambridge raw bar, wine and dine in Beacon Hill, or wield chopsticks in Chinatown, Boston’s restaurants bring you the world.

A hidden jewel. You have to come in at the beginning of Park Drive to find it. Well decorated and roomy tables make you feel comfortable. Good variety of pasta dishes, gourmet pizza, charbroiled steaks, salmon and other entrees. Great tasting tiramisu and bread pudding for dessert. Huge outdoor patio makes a great greeting place before Red Sox home games.

GARI is a new Japanese Fusion restaurant that just opened its doors right down the street from where I live in Coolidge Corner. This is truly a hidden jewel. I normally do not write reviews, but I know this will be a new soon-to-be HOT SPOT once the word gets out. The atmosphere, staff and food are truly amazing at reasonable prices for the amount of food they give. It is equal if not better than Fugaku and Oishii. It's located between a dentist office and a laundromat. I tried their creative special makimono (GARI Bruschetta Twist and King Cobra Maki), it is amazing! I was skeptical about their fusion dishes, but glad I ordered the Escargot in a pastry puff with a spicy black bean sauce and the Angel Hair Fusion Noodle. It is truly fusion. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. You have to check this place out! It's a must see and a must try! Brookline is blessed to have GARI in the neighborhood.

Consistent great food over 20 years that I have gone there. Tucked out of the way, just off the main street. Very close to Harvard dorms and Harvard Square. Small, cozy, unique atmosphere. The paella is "to come back for" again and again.
