About 10Best's Boston Shopping Selections:
A recent survey showed that shopping is one of the top reasons people visit Boston – above sightseeing and museums. One look at the city’s boutiques, malls, department stores, and outlets and you’ll understand why people flock here to stock up on clothes, shoes, jewelry, and books. It all begins on Newbury Street, a renowned, eight-block stretch whose shops cater to every taste, from upper-crust to cutting-edge. The next stop for any avid shopper is Downtown Crossing near Boston Common. This browser’s paradise – pedestrian-friendly, no cars allowed – is home to one of the city’s most famous attractions for stylish bargains: Filene’s Basement. Give your credit card a workout while enjoying a side of history at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, also called Quincy Market. This area is stocked with quaint stores and tourist-friendly souvenir shops, and it has an amazing food court when it’s time to refuel. Blow your budget at the shops on Charles Street at the foot of Beacon Hill, or attempt frugality at the many bookstores of Harvard Square. Wherever you go, you’ll find ample evidence that although Boston is a history buff’s heaven, it’s also a shopaholic’s fantasy.

The Gallery at Dunia, The Earth-Friendly Store for Home, Body and Soul(SM) proudly presents "Magic: Outside/Inside," a collection of canvases and works on paper by Maynard-based artist Sarah Jeppson. Jeppson deftly integrates watercolor, monoprint, pastel, charcoal, collage and other media into visual tone poems, imbued with myth, dream-narrative and an eccentric sense of play. The exhibit will run from June 27th through August 19th, and the gallery will host an artist’s reception on Sunday, July 16th, from 2 to 5 P.M. The public is invited to attend. Jeppson will donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale of her art to Earthwatch Institute (www.earthwatch.org), a non-profit organization that supports scientific field research by offering volunteers the opportunity to join research teams around the world.
"Magic: Outside/Inside" explores boundaries that are existential – between human and animal, material and spiritual, intellect and instinct, and freewill and destiny, among others – as well as artistic. By turns visible and invisible, concrete and ethereal, Jeppson’s universe is a loose tapestry of innumerable, permeable worlds, and every being is a potential shape-shifter. “This isn’t just physical,” clarifies Jeppson, “It includes the mind and feelings too. Intuition, empathy, language—even myth—create communication and a sense of place within our world.”
Sarah Jeppson’s accolades include “Best Work on Paper,” 1995 Arts Worcester Biennial; Third Prize at the 1995 Fitchburg Art Museum’s 60th Regional Exhibit; and the Artists’ Alternative Award at the 1996 Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. She holds a B.A. in Art from Hampshire College, Amherst MA, and has studied at Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus OH, and at Clark University and the Worcester Art Museum, both in Worcester MA. Sarah Jeppson currently plies her art in her studio in ArtSpace Maynard.

Such a great store! They seemed to cary all the great designers [like] Diane von Furstenberg, Ella Moss, Milly, Shoshanna and some good denim options [from Citizens, James and Hudson. I know you can get these brands up and down Newbury, but the girls there were so down to earth and honest that I definitely will be back again.
