More about Bozeman
Formerly known as a "cow town" and always acknowledged for its sheer scenic grandeur, Bozeman is the sixth largest city in Montana. Set in the rich farmland of the Gallatin Valley, the town has the Rocky Mountains looming gloriously in the backdrop. The Victorian town center boasts a quaint main street but outdoor recreation in the area is the big draw. There's quality skiing nearby on Bridger Mountain or at Big Sky Resort. And the trout fishing is terrific on the Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson Rivers. The region is also ideal for hiking, camping, climbing, and snowboarding. If that weren't enough, Yellowstone National Park lies just eighty miles away. Bozeman is also home to the 11,000-strong Montana State University. Indoor attractions include the massive Museum of the Rockies and the interesting Pioneer Museum.
