Bogart Park

This recreational area is a favorite hangout for water sports enthusiasts. The park encompasses more than four acres of land around Glen Lake and features a small beach and several trails.

With almost 35,000 acres of scenic beauty, this canyon is one of the area's favorite outdoor retreats. Hyalite Canyon offers biking, backpacking, and camping adventures. The canyon also houses several picturesque areas like Palisades Falls.

Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park

These underground caverns, which were discovered in 1840, showcase some of the most brilliant stalagmites in the northwest. To tour the caves visitors should be fit because there is a fair amount of strenuous walking. Guided tours last 90 minutes.

Lindley Park

Located near downtown, Lindley Park is a favorite for local festivals and picnicking. The park has trails, grills, horseshoe pits, and basketball courts available for recreational use.

Madison Buffalo Jump State Park

These cliffs commemorate where Bannock and Northern Shoshone Indians masterminded buffalo stampedes during massive hunts. The cliffs are now an excavation site and still have the rock walls the Indians used to guide the bison to the top of the cliff.

Missouri Headwaters State Park

These headwaters, which mark the birth of the Missouri River, are teaming with fish. The park celebrates the Lewis and Clark expedition and provides historical information on the explorers and their Indian guide, Sacajawea.
