Driving the narrow country roads of southern England, you encounter the beginnings of the chalk cliffs commonly known as "The White Cliffs of Dover." It is here that you will find Beachy Head, which is a high peak cliff that juts out into the English Channel and overlooks a lighthouse situated at the base of the cliff over 500 feet below. To reach the peak you have a spectacular mile long hike up to the top, looking out over the sea and passing low lying flowering shrubs and grasslands filled with flowers. The wind is constant and to look over the edge is very intimidating. Besides the general fear of just falling off, one wonders if you could be blown off! The sheer beauty of the view that awaits is mesmerizing – an azure sky meeting an aqua sea, fading into light green towards shore. This is a definite must-see! (© 10Best) More Details for Beachy Head
