3. Ditchling Beacon

This is the utmost point in Sussex and on top of the South Downs. A beacon rests at this point, and the views stretch over 50 miles. This is also the location of an Iron Age hill fort. It is a member of a series of pinnacles that used beacon fires as a means to warn others of the approaching Armada. Below is a quaint market town that is home to a number of well-known artists and actors. From A27 take Hollingbury and follow the signs.   (© 10Best)
